Dept of State Collection to Grow

Department of State has indicated that it wants to expand its offering of Woodmere gift and dinnerware products. Apparently, our items make great gifts for employees and foreign dignitaries. So, look for some new things from the Department of State in the near future.

James B. Duke Society...Covered Box

With March Madness upon us, I am reminded of a great Woodmere custom china project from a few years ago.

This is a picture of a 4 inch round covered box that we did a couple of years ago for the James B. Duke Society of Duke University.

Conspiracy Theorist's Delight: Great Seal of the U.S.

If there is another symbol that has as many people speculating as to the many of it....we would like to see it. We continue to be amazed at the various theories attributed to the art of the Great Seal of The United States. Mostly, the conspiracy theorists focus on the the obverse side (look at a one dollar bill) which has the Eye of Providence looking down upon the Pyramid. No doubt there is a tremendous amount of symbolism contained in the Great Seal. However, it is hard to beleive some of the ideas that ocntinue to pop up on the internet as to the seal's origins.

Destination: Washington, DC

Speaking of great dining experiences, when you are in our nation's capitol, be sure to stop by The Willard Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue for afternoon tea. Woodmere's beautiful gold scroll and filigree pattern adorns the signaure tea service in what is often called "The Nation's Hotel".

Destination Baltimore: Petit Louis

Speaking of adding great restaurants to your list of restaurants to try real soon......add Baltimore's Petit Louis, located in the Roland Park section of the city.
From a recent Baltimore Sun review..."Lively, noisy, crowded can be good things when it's cold outside. Petit Louis in Roland Park is all those things, and French bistro comfort food like onion soup and duck confit is very appealing this time of year."
Along with the food, we think you'll appreciate the great looking design of their dinnerware, as well.

New York: Another favorite for the list

Next time you're in New York, be sure to add Bar Boulud to your list of places to go. While the food and wine will be spectacular, so will the dinnerware. We just completed this very bistro-looking design and it looks like it will fit just fine!
